Band story
The story, if we can call it a story, maybe started with Miquel and Liam meeting at shows and going from rehearsal room to rehearsal room, one in Bellvitge and the other in El Vallès (not to say exactly the location and reveal its nerve center). At first, they used to improvise any mad song or some rockabilly classics. Soon they took a piano from Bellvitge to El Vallès and started another kind of session; this time, instead of drums and guitar, the sessions would be made of piano and guitar.
Suddenly a performance was coming, and at the after-dinner conversation, Liam said that they had a near duo concert, but if they want it, it could be a complete band with 4 people...
At Screamin’ Festival 2025 (Calella), Miquel and Liam, after a refreshing swim, after a long crazy night full of performances and dances, had the idea of Martí playing bass in the band. The same day, they met and asked him, the younger one, who was 15 years old, who felt in agreement with them.
The drumsticks were in Ricky’s hands, Eddie’s brother, both indefatigable rockabilly enthusiasts and frequent attendees at festivals (both national and European).
The first concert of the band was in Arenys de Mar the 13th of September, and it was a clear success, exceeding the capacity of people. The whole band, with 4 people, was now a consolidated fact.
The second show was the 25th of October at the SuperBar in Moja, the nerve center of the musical scene in El Penedès; more than 150 people came to see the new band.
Their third show was the 20th of December in La Cantera, Bellvei, a place where thousands of bikers from around the country meet, playing in a festival with some other bands with friends in common. It was a historic day, both for the event and for the people’s reaction.
The fourth performance, January 11th, was in Hollister, one of the most important rock and roll cathedrals in Catalonia, with more than 300 persons living the show, one more time, exceeding every expectation.
The Local Crazy Rockers’ sound is pure and classic, they don’t want to try any new thing, they just go back to the rockabilly essence of the 50s, with energy, freshness, and authenticity, with versions that make the crowd stand up, and also with original songs that have nothing to envy from the original recordings.
La historia, si es que podemos llamarla historia, quizá empezó cuando Miquel y Liam se conocieron en conciertos y fueron pasando de un local de ensayo a otro, uno en Bellvitge y el otro en El Vallès (sin precisar la ubicación exacta para no revelar su centro neurálgico). Al principio improvisaban cualquier tema loco o algunos clásicos del rockabilly. Pronto se llevaron un piano de Bellvitge a El Vallès y comenzaron otro tipo de sesiones; esta vez, en lugar de batería y guitarra, serían de piano y guitarra.
De repente se acercaba una actuación y, en una conversación de sobremesa, Liam comentó que tenían un concierto como dúo, pero que, si querían, podía convertirse en una banda completa de 4 personas...
En el Screamin’ Festival 2025 (Calella), Miquel y Liam, después de un baño refrescante y una larga noche llena de actuaciones y bailes, tuvieron la idea de que Martí tocara el bajo en la banda. Ese mismo día lo vieron y se lo propusieron: el más joven, con 15 años, se mostró totalmente de acuerdo.
Las baquetas quedaron en manos de Ricky, hermano de Eddie; dos entusiastas incansables del rockabilly y asistentes habituales a festivales (tanto nacionales como europeos).
El primer concierto de la banda fue en Arenys de Mar el 13 de septiembre, y fue un éxito rotundo, superando el aforo. La banda al completo, con 4 personas, ya era un hecho consolidado.
El segundo show fue el 25 de octubre en el SuperBar de Moja, centro neurálgico de la escena musical en El Penedès; más de 150 personas vinieron a ver a la nueva banda.
Su tercer concierto fue el 20 de diciembre en La Cantera (Bellvei), un lugar donde se reúnen miles de moteros de todo el país, en un festival junto a otras bandas con amigos en común. Fue un día histórico, tanto por el evento como por la reacción del público.
La cuarta actuación, el 11 de enero, fue en Hollister, una de las catedrales más importantes del rock and roll en Cataluña, con más de 300 personas viviendo el show y, una vez más, superando todas las expectativas.
El sonido de Local Crazy Rockers es puro y clásico: no pretenden inventar nada nuevo, solo regresar a la esencia rockabilly de los 50, con energía, frescura y autenticidad, con versiones que levantan al público y también con temas propios que no tienen nada que envidiar a las grabaciones originales.
